I am not a person with zillions of pairs of shoes but I always have several pairs of these shoes. I wear them daily at home and to work and would be really disappointed if they stopped making them. I wear them hiking with the dogs and unless you are hiking in very steep and rocky terrain or in bad weather, they are quite acceptable hiking shoes. If you have a very wide foot like I do they are a wonderful find. It was almost impossible to find a decent-looking walking shoe in a D width until I discovered Brooks. They are comfy, last forever, and, while not the most stylish walking shoe out there, the good fit makes them my number one choice. One problem - I have had to re-glue the toe flap that curves up over the front of the shoe on 2 or 3 individual shoes. Once done with Barge's all-purpose cement (recommended by a shoemaker)they were fine. For the great quality and fit, the price is reasonable.
